No Indian passports are not biometric and they do not contain any biometric features in the Passport itself. But if you are doing any of these below. Applying for a Fresh passport. Renewing the passport. Then you are expected to give your biometrics at the PSK (Passport Seva Kendra). Tags: Indian Passports biometric.

The Government of India issues three different types of passports – Diplomatic passports; Official passports; and regular or ordinary passports. India initiated the first phase deployment of Biometric e-Passport only for diplomatic passport holders in India and abroad in 2008.

As long as you have a valid visa, you are good. Biometric passport have a chip in one of their pages. This chip on the passport page is clearly visible. Machine readable passports have all sorts of alpha-numeric characters below your picture and personal details page. The characters would include you name.

The Aadhaar number of the passport applicant and bio-metric are validated with Aadhaar database to verify the authenticity of the Aadhaar Card being submitted by the applicants. The Aadhaar can be presented as Proof of Identity (PoI), Proof of Address (PoA) and proof of Date of Birth.
