Issued since April 2010, biometric machine-readable passports cost ৳ 3450 (US$41) for regular delivery, including all taxes, and ৳ 6900 (US$82) for express delivery including all taxes. E-passports cost ৳ 4025 (US$48) to ৳ 13800 (US$160) with all taxes included.

Expedited passports take about 4 to 6 weeks but cost an extra $60 to process. The passport fee for a new adult document is $145, for standard processing and standard delivery, and renewal costs $110 as of April 2, 2018. The US passport is valid for 10 years for citizens 16 or older when the passport was issued.

United States passports are passports issued to citizens and nationals of the United States of America. They are issued exclusively by the U.S. Department of State .  Besides passports (in booklet form), limited use passport cards are issued by the same government agency subject to the same requirements.

In the Enhanced Border Security and Visa Entry Reform Act of 2002, the U.S. Congress mandated the use of biometrics in U.S. visas. This law requires that U.S. Embassies and Consulates abroad must issue to international visitors, "only machine-readable, tamper-resistant visas and other travel and entry documents that use biometric identifiers.
Many people expect to receive a response or next steps from the USCIS within a few weeks of their biometrics appointment. Unfortunately, the wait will be much longer than this. Typically, it can take anything between 5 and 10 months before you get a notice for your green card interview, for example.
If you are unable to attend your scheduled biometric services appointment for good cause, you may request to reschedule your appointment by calling the USCIS Contact Center at 800-375-5283 (TTY 800-767-1833). You must make your request before the date and time of the original appointment, and you must establish good cause for rescheduling.
