Yes, you can reschedule your biometrics appointment. If you can’t attend an early walk-in for biometrics appointment, the best thing to do is request to reschedule it. But, I recommend that you avoid it as it can take several weeks to months to get a new appointment date!

As a temporary measure, we’ve made some changes to biometrics requirements. You’re exempt from the requirement to give your biometrics if you’re in Canada and are applying to work, study or stay temporarily in Canada or applying or have applied for permanent residence and have given biometrics within the last 10 years

You can try going to have your biometrics taken earlier than the scheduled date. They might accept you and take your biometrics when you go there, even though it is earlier than the date of your appointment. If you’re applying for the first time, you need to give your biometrics (unless you’re exempt).. See who needs to give biometrics.; If you’ve given your biometrics before as part of an application for a visitor visa or study or work permit, your biometrics are probably still valid.. Find out if your biometrics are still valid and when they expire by using the Check Status tool.
