Following the filing of such application, USCIS will normally schedule the applicant for an appointment to submit biometrics at an ASC in the U.S. (normally closest to the address of the applicant). U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced today that applicants, petitioners, requestors and beneficiaries may now call the USCIS Contact Center (800-375-5283) to reschedule their biometric services appointments scheduled at a USCIS Application Support Center. Previously, applicants had to submit requests in writing to reschedule their biometrics appointments. This change helps eliminate undue paperwork and allows USCIS to track the request through a more efficient process.

Yes, you can reschedule your biometrics appointment. If you can’t attend an early walk-in for biometrics appointment, the best thing to do is request to reschedule it. But, I recommend that you avoid it as it can take several weeks to months to get a new appointment date!

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) requires a biometrics appointment (sometimes called the “fingerprint appointment”) as part of many applications for immigration benefits. At these appointments, the U.S. government will take your fingerprints, pictures, and signature to use for background-check and identification purposes.

Just to let you know that everything went fine and I had my biometrics done. In fact, you CAN DO IT in any Application Support Center. They schedule your appointment to the closest one, according to your address but if for any reason you can't go to that specific office it's possible to do it in a different one.

Well, Don't go but what CIC website says. Some USCIS application center don't require appointment, I didn't make any appointment, I went to USCIS closer to me and did my biometric by walk in. You can do VAC if they have closer appointment as well. I don't understand by "Don't go but what CIC website says".

In certain circumstances, USCIS can reuse previously submitted biometrics. This could be either for a primary application or for a totally different application. However, some of the critical ones like Employment Authorization Document (EAD), visitor visa extensions, H4 dependent visas, and reentry permits for eligible green card holders.

Hi all. Need some advice. Can I bring my 3-year-old to my biometric appointment at an ASC?? Do they allow it? The appointment letter says no one else should accompany me. Any one here has any experience bringing a (non-applicant) child to a biometric appointment? Thank you !!
