U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced today that applicants, petitioners, requestors and beneficiaries may now call the USCIS Contact Center (800-375-5283) to reschedule their biometric services appointments scheduled at a USCIS Application Support Center.

You can reschedule the biometrics appointment, but it’s generally not a good idea to do so unless you absolutely have to—and rescheduling twice is certainly something to avoid. Your green card application will not be denied just because you request to reschedule your biometrics appointment, but it will be denied if you don’t get your fingerprints and photo taken in a timely manner.

Solution: Except in very rare cases, you have no option but to return to the U.S. and provide your biometrics. You have the option to walk-in or reschedule as described above if you cannot attend the appointment as scheduled. If you do not attend, your application will be denied.

You are required to contact the USCIS Contact Center at least 2 weeks before your current appointment date to reschedule your biometrics appointment. If you have missed your biometrics appointment due to an urgent reason, you must inform the USCIS to get back in the biometric scheduling queue.

Your biometric confirmation receipt will be stamped at your appointment. You then have 5 days to post this, your application form, your passport and supporting documents to UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI). 3. Wait until I return from my trip and then start a whole new application, pay the fee again, get my biometrics taken again, and then submit.

me too! got an update after 71 days in the dark! I have been rescheduled for Biometrics. Timeline so far: GC type: EB2. Processing Center: NBC. PD: 10/23/2018. AOS Application Date: 2/24/2020. Biometrics Date 1: 3/19/2020 (cancelled) Biometrics Date 2: 4/02/2020 (cancelled) i-765 Aproval Date: 5/20/2020. New Biometrics Date 3: 08/13/2020 (no EAD card yet)
