There are several biometric devices that do not require the person being identified to touch anything. Retinal and iris scanners do not necessarily require the person to touch anything. Facial recognition also usually does not require the individual to touch anything. The types of biometrics that require touching usually are focused on the hands or fingers or on something the hands or fingers do like keystroke patterns or signatures.

Imagine being able to check-in and also go through security without ever having to touch a machine or interact with a person. Even with CLEAR you still have to touch the fingerprint pad. However, with Vision-Box’s new biometric screening technology you wouldn’t have to touch anything at all!

Another technological advance to take into account is biometrics where interacting with a machine without touching the screen is a reality. In recent months, with the COVID-19 present in our lives, we are seeing a decline in cash payments, the cards are living their best moment but there are still phases of the processes that are not 100% contactless, is the case of entering the PIN in the payment POS.

Users can do simple gestures to control or interact with devices without touching them. Waving your hand to trigger an automatic door, for example, removes the need to touch handles or a physical button. Touchless sensing can detect the presence or motion of a person under a sensor.

Even then, touch “gestures” have little to do with hand movement outside of the fingertips touching the device; you can do a three-finger swipe with any three fingers you choose. The only really important thing is that you fulfill the minimum requirement to do what the computer is looking for to get the result you want.

These characteristics include fingerprints, facial images, iris and voice recognition.
