Can I get my EAD approval before a Biometric Appointment? it really depends, there are cases in which people had their fingerprints taken before due to different cases but if this is the first time that you are applying for adjustment of status or any immigration benefit and your fingerprints have never been taken before then the answer is no. I figured out by talking to a USCIS agent that biometrics has been applied to my I-765 application. I want to know how much time does it take to approve EAD after this step? Also, if possible, can you tell me what are the steps in I-765 processing after biometrics?

Generally, the EAD arrives in your mail box within 90 days of filing, however, it's not the case always for everyone. We received H1-EAD with Advance parole in 78 days of filings or 48 days after biometrics, similarly, while we filed L2-EAD back in 2015, it took 90 days after filing or 70 days after biometrics.

You won't get the card until your biometrics are done, unless you had previous biometrics from an ASC in the past. My case, for instance, was approved on June 10th, and my card was only ordered into production on July 21 when they did my biometrics. Unless it's a major issue in terms of jobs, I'd sit tight and wait for the biometrics notice.

Tip: If you think you might have a criminal record (even a DUI), contact an immigration lawyer before going to a biometrics appointment. Some crimes will make you ineligible for immigration benefits.
