Will I need my BRP to travel? Yes always take your BRP when you go travelling. It is essentially proof that you can enter the UK without having to show an exit route. Whether or not you will be asked to show your BRP largely depends on the country.

Yes, you can leave the UK and you will need to show your BRP and your passport each time you travel. If you do not collect your BRP and have to leave, you can re-enter the UK within the 30 day period of the travel vignette (i.e. you can re-enter without your BRP) but you must collect your BRP as soon as possible on your return.

Collecting your Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) from UCL From Monday 2 November 2020, UCL will no longer be running face-to-face BRP collection appointments. Therefore if you have used UCL’s BRP Alternative Collection Location code (2HE484) in your visa application, your BRP will instead be sent to your UK address.

If you arrive in the UK before the end of July, your Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) card will be posted to you if you used our Alternative Collection Location (ACL) code when you made your visa application. This year, due to COVID-19, UKVI have been sending BRP cards directly through the post so you do not need to collect it in person.
