You can’t transfer or share a physical biometric digitally – the only way to utilize most biometric authentication systems is with a physical application. Near spoof-proof Biometrics like face patterns, fingerprints, iris scanning, and others are near-impossible to replicate with current technology.

Over the past two months, I interviewed a dozen students in schools that have installed different “intelligent education” systems and spoke to tech entrepreneurs whose companies are developing the systems used in those schools. While advocates claim that using facial recognition to monitor students’ in-class behavior can accurately assess attention levels and help them learn more efficiently, most students I spoke with had a different opinion.
